Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions our guests ask most about skiing in Chongli.

Do you provide English-speaking or bilingual ski/snowboard instructors?

Yes, absolutely! Bilingual (English and Chinese) instruction for both skiing and snowboarding is exactly what we do. We offer private 1-on-1 sessions up to private 5-person groups, for half-day, full-day, or night sessions. Whether you are a first-timer or looking to improve your technique, we are ready to help.

We have both skiers and snowboarders in our beginner group. How do you teach us?

For beginners, we strongly recommend splitting into two groups with two separate coaches — one for skiers and one for snowboarders.

  • Why? Teaching both disciplines at the same time by one coach is possible (we are certified in both), but it is not efficient. A coach can only explain with words when switching disciplines, which slows down your learning.
  • The good news: The two groups can still learn side-by-side in the same learning area, so your family or friends stay together.

I have kids traveling with me. Do you have experience teaching children?

Yes, teaching kids is one of our specialties! We have extensive experience teaching children from beginners to intermediate levels. We know how to be patient, encouraging, and make the lesson fun and safe for them.

Can you send your instructor's certifications, photos, and a skiing video?

Of course. We are fully certified (with international ski and snowboard credentials). We are happy to share our instructor's full name, photos and certification documents. Just ask us!

What is included in the lesson fee?

Our lesson fee includes:

  • Professional coaching
  • Disposable items like anti-freeze face patches and heat packs (free of charge)
  • As a free bonus, we will capture photos and videos of your trip and edit a short video for you, so you can look back on your great holiday.

It does NOT include:

  • Ski/snowboard equipment rental (available at the resort)
  • Personal items (base layers, gloves, face masks, socks) — we recommend buying these in advance
  • Lift tickets

How much do lessons cost?

Because our rates depend on the lesson length (half-day, full-day, night), group size, and skill level, we do not list fixed prices here. Please contact us at service@skitochina.com or message us on WhatsApp for our latest rate card and a personalized quote.

Which lift ticket should I buy? The magic carpet or the ski lift?

You do not need to choose in advance — the standard lift ticket usually covers both the beginner magic carpet area and the mountain lifts. During your first 2–3 hours, we will always stay in the magic carpet area to build your basics. Whether we go up the mountain depends on your skill assessment on the day. For safety reasons, we cannot promise summit runs in advance — we will decide together once we see you ski!

If I stay at a hotel inside the resort (like Element Chongli or Thaiwoo Town), is the lift ticket included?

It depends on your room package. Some hotel packages include lift tickets (ski-and-stay packages), while others do not. Tell us your room type and where you booked, and we will gladly help you confirm with the hotel.

How many people are in a group session?

Our group sessions are usually divided into 3, 4, or 5 pax.

I am traveling alone. Can I join a group session to save money?

We are happy to check if an existing group on your dates is open to sharing! However, please note that we mainly run private family groups, so a match is not guaranteed. If nothing lines up, a 1-on-1 private session is your best bet — it is honestly the fastest way to progress.

Can the 6-hour full-day lesson be split into two days? (e.g., 3 hours each day)

No, the full-day lesson cannot be split across two days. It is designed to be done continuously in one day (which includes a 1-hour lunch break). If you want to ski on two separate days, we recommend booking two half-day sessions.

How do we get to Chongli from Beijing?

It is very easy! You have two main options:

  • High-Speed Train: Take the train from Qinghe Railway Station in Beijing directly to Chongli High-Speed Railway Station. From there, you can take the resort's free shuttle bus to your hotel.
  • Private Transfer/Taxi: Take a taxi or book a 7-seater business van directly from Beijing Airport. The drive takes about 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

Which ski resort in Chongli is best for first-timers?

  • Chongli has a lot of ski resorts. They all have different slopes and terrain, and their own unique features.
  • Check out our ski resort guide to see the details of each one, then you can pick the one that fits you best.
  • Still not sure? Just contact us, and we will give you personalized advice.
